FNFAL Collection Inspection (North Las Vegas Variant) & Firing Pin Spring ID?
FNFAL Collection Inspection (North Las Vegas Variant) & Firing ...
Found a spring in my spare firing pin kit that looked very similar in dimensions except is was a few coils longer. Compared it against a brand new two piece firing pin and a used IMBEL one piece. Decided it was not a firing pin spring. Why was it in my spare firing pin kit is a bit of a mystery right now.

Once a year I'll start going through my firearm collection taking a close look at them and some fresh oil. Previous videos were on my AR collection. Looking at my pump actions today!

Just thought I'd share a video while taking a look at my Carbines. I may have mixed up some terms when I was mentioning how the accuwedge could cause an interference issue with the bolt carrier. You may need to trim the top of the accuwedge depending on your receiver type.

I usually take a look at all my firearms about once a year even though I live in the Southwest where there is virtually no humidity or extreme weather other than the heat! Took out my 20" AR rifles today and thought I'd share a little info as I went along. When I was discussing the Colt Match Target concerning the hand guard rotation u...

Pieced this rifle together sometime in late "94" after the assault weapons ban took effect. Somewhere between 4 to 5 thousand rounds. Didn't look to bad at all but the gas port shows that it's been shot a few times! Plenty of life left in the old carbine!

AR-15 Crush Washer Orientation... Does It Matter? 4-11-2021
AR-15 Crush Washer Orientation... Does It Matter? 4-11-2021
Depending on the barrel diameter or type of muzzle device you may want to install it one way or the other for cosmetic reasons. My opinion is the crush washer will do it's job either way so it doesn't really matter when Mil-Spec dimensions are being used.

Velocity single stage 4 lb triggers were very good. I think my Wilson Combat triggers may be just a little smoother but I couldn't say for sure unless I did a side by side comparison. Criterion barrels were very accurate! The 16" looks to be about a .75" to maybe just under 1.00" and the 18" looks to be about .5" to...
  • Received some comments on another platform about my crush washer being installed backwards. I've since done quite a bit of research and one group says it goes on the way I installed it and another group stated it is installed opposite and then there's another group that says it doesn't matter. I've decided to go with it doesn't matter.

The 16" & 18" carbines are done. Will most likely install weapon lights and will be using some basic 2 point slings with quick slide adjust buckles. No bi-pods on these builds... for now anyway. Should be able to get these out some time next week to see how they run!
